How do I disable all users the ability to use bylevel in CONNECT. I have tried adding the Workmode Capability statement to my configuration file but does not work. I was able to disable the bylevel option in V8i using the method mentioned earlier. Thanks

That being said, this is something you should report as a defect.

One suggestion I have is to check your User Preference settings. In the Operations category there is an option to Sync Symbology to ByLevel. If that is turned on it could be wrongly overriding your Workmode Capability setting.

The other suggestion is to verify the variable is being set correctly.

In MicroStation open the Configuration Variables dialog.

Once open select File > Show Configuration Variable Values.

It will open a Notepad window with all of the current variable definitions. Search for your workmode setting to verify it is correct.
