While it's nice to have the dockable ribbon interface, why not have it work like the rest of the interface and have it drop down on cursor fly-over rather than on click?
It would be nice to keep it consistent.
Hi Bear,

You can have that throught Backstage\Settings\User\Preferences\Ribbon\ Expand on Mouse-over:
Once I would hope that Bentley would use the same principal to hide the ribbon... but we have to click away (?), different from the way the other dockable dialogs works.
Hope this helps and regards

Thanks for that Jose, only thing I don't like is that I'd prefer it to stay up like tasks so I can use Popset and close once the cursor moves off. I can see why they haven't added popset to this interface.
The current sequence is collapsed ribbon opens in active tab on mouseover, it remians open until a tool is clicked then closes.
If it remained open what would be the dismiss action?
Popset is still available from the Toolboxes dialog (Ctrl + T) and can be docked like any other toolbox.

Previous control was the cursor, once you move away the ribbon can retract. That would at least allow you to use popset or the tool settings window as we do now. As it is, popset is removed all together and you have to go digging for it to use it or show users how to use it. Makes me wonder how much longer it will be around which is a great shame. This new interface just takes up too much screen real estate. JMO.
Using CTRL+T to open toolboxes is always a good way.
But why not implement RMB over Groups and open toolbox directly from there without having to search inside toolboxes dialog for the right one?
Just like in Tasks from v8i.
PopSet is a bit different from most other tools. Generally they are just icons that launch a command. PopSet has the toggle and right-click options all hanging off the one icon/button. Integrating these behaviours with the Ribbon is a significant task which is the subject of Defect 45214:"PopSet toggle button does not work in the ribbon".
If adding PopSet to the Ribbon is important to you please file a Service Request referencing this defect, that will help to increase the priority of the defect.
Note that PopSet is listed in the Customize Ribbon dialog under the 'Toolboxes (Application)' group and can be added to the Ribbon but it just appears as a dumb button.
