I want to alter the Microstation Application Pull down to load the Bentley Inroads , my users accidentally pic software we do not own and we get
nailed for over usage fees. We even have a third party software to help us control this but some how users still manage to hit something we dont own
I want to remove SITE, SITE SUITE, BRIDGE, RAIL
I did manage to local the dgnlib that seems to control this however the option to edit is grayed out
I have considered making my own custom menu with the MDL load key int and remove the CFG from all pc
any tips on this would be great
few options are to delete the exe for unwanted software , however applications list still shows them all, good work around
remove the DLL from C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\bin\products
remove unwanted exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\InRoads Group V8.11\bin\
This doesn't solve the problem of how to remove the extra entries in the Application menu, but one of our offices did something similar to removing dlls few years back. What they did was to create groups in Windows (Active Directory maybe?)of users who were allowed to use certain software InRoads Drainage, Survey etc. Then the Net. Admin had login script files that would delete the extra exe files.Sorry I don't know more specifics, but I remember it seemed to work well.Tom F.
A few versions ago, Geopak had a number of CFG variables that determined which portions of the Suite would be visible in the GUI:
# Global Geopak VariablesGPK_NOAUTOACTIVATE = 1GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG = 1GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG_SUITE = 1GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG_SITE = 0GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG_SURVEY = 0GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG_REBAR = 0GPK_STARTUP_CONFIG_BRIDGE = 0
I have no idea if InRoads has anything like that, but it might be worth a look.
