As it states on the SCDOT CADD DESIGN site:

"If you have questions, comments, or suggestions regarding the application of SCDOT's Microstation CADD Workspaces, please contact the Design Automation Office of Preconstruction Support."

It also quotes the versions they require for their standards.

Yes, I've only used the one from here in Ohio, and not recently. It was a bit involved, no one click install. Their data provided a ton of stuff, but I did need to set-up a few things in Microstation. I would contact them, I'm sure they'll help.

Is your Microstation setup (before SCDOT) as-delivered (plain vanilla) or have you made any modifications to the default configurations?

Just to check - which version of Microstation/Geopak are you running?

yes i have gone through that manual and the initial paragraph begins with having a SCDOT_Design workspace available which i do not have after the download

Thanks i have gone through the readme file again and that gave me the idea to try downloading the file into a difference location.

I have noticed that several DOT workspaces are set up to run primarily on their internal network. That's possible here.

I see they have a CADD manual - have you read that? Perhaps they have some additional information about the workspace there.

You should look for some readme type instructions or even call or visit your DOT folks. Public employees can be oh so helpful.

First thing to check is what Microstation version they're working with.
