Is there and EASY way to kill off anything to do with Worksets and anything to do with assigning Worksets\Workspaces to files?
The only thing I can think of is to use v8i. I had a similar issue when first using Connect. I hated that the software interrupted me the first time I opened any existing file. I used a batch command to add all files to their appropriate workset. This was easy for me because my worksets directly corresponded to folders.
In the stupid, grasping at straws category, you could try moving all the files in "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<<workspace name>>\WorkSets". I DID NOT TRY THIS
What happened to the good old days when we could configure these packages to suit ourselves.??? It's always been one of the big advantages of the Bentley software to me, I hope we don't go down a path where we have to use this the Bentley way or no way.
I'm currently in V8i and will be for some time to come if things aren't fixed or improved. This package still has some way to mature as yet.
Use No WorkSpace No WorkSet to not assign anything to the DGN file. Does this not meet your needs?
_USTN_WORKSETNAME = No Workset
Tried this and the alert dialog still comes up.
You can delete the delivered example workspace and in addition to disable the creation of new WorkSpaces and WorkSets you can use the following:
For files already associated you can break the association by following the instructions in the article below:
