I have been exploring the use of worksets (not convinced yet!!) but how do I create a Workset Template, that when used, creates specific files & folders?
I have had a look through Help and this forum but can't find anything that explains the process of creating a new Workset Template.
Creating Projects/WorkSets using a template has been an issue with MicroStation for a long time, not just with CONNECT.
We have always done this outside of the MicroStation GUI, copying a template and renaming files and folders in Windows Explorer. It's easiest if you can limit the number of files and folders that have to be renamed based on the Project or WorkSet name.
If you only have to rename a few files to the project name it's not that bad. We've had clients that rename dozens of files in their templates based on the project name. In those cases we've developed custom project creation tools that do the copying and renaming. Some clients need to create 10 or more projects at a time, so we've even built in a type of batch processing into their custom project creation tools.
