I have no clue as to how big your organization is, but do you have an IT support staff that can push out the modified config file to all of the users?

Seems to me this would be a high priority update so that you are not exceeding your IPlot license count and getting quarterly overage billings from Bentley.

You are right. But I have very limited access to the workstations itself. My thought was that I can re-configure the behaviour of IPlot. It works very well with other applications.

In the case of IPlot my challenge is the concatenated string value of <MS_DGNAPPS>. From this variable I have to remove the IPlot-part.

If I understand you correctly, you only want to load IPlot when the user is actually going to print then unload when it's done.

I haven't loaded IPlot in a while, but I think if you replace the delivered C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\config\appl\iplot.cfg file with a modified version that removes the MS_DGNAPPS variable definition, that would work.

Then when you want to run IPlot you key in mdl load iplotn That key in could be put in a custom ribbon icon, or tied to a function key.
