I am looking at setting up VDI for 10 users who will primarily use OpenRoads on the virtual desktop.

Good afternoon,

I am looking to implement a new server / virtualization setup for a client. In doing this, I would like to be able to setup VDI for 10 users initially to run OpenRoads. I need to know if there is any information around VDI, nVidia grid or other technologies needed  to do this. Is there an area on the Communities here that focuses on this?

  • Hi Patrick,

Make sure that you look into the licensing on this as well.  I have heard about overage charges due to a user not closing the software before logging out.  Even though the user is logged out, that session of the software "stays active", so if another user logs in and opens the same software, you will be charged for using two licenses.  So if all your 10 users open the same Bentley software and log out without closing the program first, you could be charged for using 10 licenses while no one is logged in!
