I have a user who is not getting read only messages when opening a file another user is in, and other users are able to open a file the one user is in with no read only message. This has lead to file corruption. Is there a setting for this?

  • Hi Dale,

Our applications open and lock one DGN at a time. Locking is otherwise controlled by the operating system.

Are your files stored in a virtualized network environment or synchronised with a remote location? Assuming that a MicroStation based desktop application is involved (You don't tell us) this sounds like it could be a network or OS matter.

Please let us know which application and version is involved.

  • Hi Marc,

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

Our files are on a local server network, In the same space we're in.

We're using MicroStation SS10 v 08.11.09.919 for this particular project.

Operating system is Windows 10 Pro

Every machine running the program was set up exactly the same way,

I have never seen anything quite like this in all of the setups I've done. And I've been doing them for over 10 years.

I can't imagine the operator changed the system settings since that would most likely require admin privileges.
