Microstation Connect Edition can't find Workspace from NYSDOT

I answered this question over in the MicroStation forum a few months ago:

CONNECT: followed the directions to install our DOT workspace files and they look like they loaded but I am unable to select them at the start up, it freezes. - MicroStation Forum - MicroStation - Bentley Communities

They needed to define CIVIL_ORGANIZATION_ROOT in the MicroStation WorkSpaceSetup.cfg file.

I saw your answer, but still not working.

What is in your configurationsetup.cfg file?

I think you may have went one folder too far when pointing the _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION to the workspaces folder. You only need to go to the Configuration folder.

Also - if you are placing the NYSDOT workspace in the delivered configuration, then it should not need to use the _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION. The software should already see the delivered configuration.

FYI: This is not a recomended workflow. It is recomended that you create a separate folder structure for the custom configuration.

Easiest fix might be to change your ConfigurationSetup.cfg so that:

_USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION = $(_USTN_INSTALLED_CONFIGURATION)

or remove the _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION altogether
