I t would appear a new .cfg file that I place into the
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\AECOsimBuildingDesigner V8i\AECOsimBuildingDesigner\config\appl
folder, it still isn't being read? Right now, I have a small bascially text defition begin defined, just to test.
Any ideas?
So what is the content of that file ? And how do you test if it's loaded ? Never seen anything not loaded from there.
just a simple XXXX=xxxx line of code.
I should see a variable named XXXX, right?
I think you need spaces around the = and quotes around the xxxx. It should look like XXXX = "xxxx". You should then find a variable named XXXX in the Workspace Configuration list inside MicroStation with a value of "xxxx".
I'm not getting anything in the debug file.
You could try putting the new .cfg in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\appl and run plain MicroStation to see if the variable definition works from there. Once you know the definition is read correctly, you can start chaseing down why it's not being read in the folder you mentioned above.
I have not used AECOsimBuildingDesigner V8i so I can't help much with that specifically. I am going by what I know from working with MicroStation and InRoads.
