We have had an odd occurrence several times now. Two users accessing the same file with write permissions (not read-only) at the same time. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Both are running InRoads, however, they are opening the file in plain MicroStaton before initiating InRoads. This at some point produces and exception error and knocks them out of MicroStation.
I've had that happen - network issue - got better over time but still happens. The more hte data - the bigger the file - the worse it seems to get.

It happens on high latency networks from time to time. Not an application problem as such.
Check this wiki article [communities.bentley.com/.../microstation-file-access-issues-with-shared-network-drives.aspx]
and check your version of SMB.
If it’s not that then you might need to look at caching technologies in your infrastructure.
