Do Android devices require internet access to connect to the application? If so, why, and can it be disabled?

When testing an Android device in version 7.11, the device will not connect unless it has internet access.

  • Hi Paul Kiar.

May I know if this is the latest version of Mobile Inspection: Version 1.1.3.1548799037 and does the bug is already fixed?

Currently, we are testing using Samsung Tab S2. What we do is, we download all the checksheet into the tablet, then we disable the internet connection because we dont have network connectivity in our plant.

This method work fine in iOS but not in Samsung tablet. We experienced twice already where the apps say no internet connection and all checksheet disappear from the tablet until we connect back to internet.

Anyway, could you confirmed that the bug is fixed already?

    Thanks.

  • This specific issue was resolved in version 1.1.3.1548799037 but there is another scenario where the user chooses to refresh while offline (pull down on the list, or select refresh from the menu).  In this case the checksheets are removed from the device before verifying that the server is reachable.  This bug has been resolved and will be available in version 1.1.4.x which is currently pending release approval.
