When employees leave or are no longer using the APM System, how do I mark them as inactive?
Due to the complex web of references to Employees in many of the objects in the APM system, Employee objects cannot be deleted. The user's ability to login and the user login referenced by an Employee object can be deleted, but the Employee object itself must remain to satisfy the myriads of historical references that may exist.
Our recommended approach to dealing with this situation is simple. Prefixing the Employee name with an x will make it evident that this is a reference to a former employee for other system users, as well as place this employee name, typically, at the bottom of an alphabetically sorted listing.
