Having an issue with our smart clients. When our DEV smart client is installed on a machine it wipes out the PROD smart client. The PROD Smart client can then be reinstalled and both will work.
Smart Clients are both deployed to different environments, not using common ports but are on the same server. At some point during construction of the smart client package, the Dev environment was packaged with inaccurate data. This resulted in windows thinking that the DEV Smart Client was an update of the PROD smart client. Review all the DEV smart client packager projects and update file names, instance names and ports to eliminate conflicts. Repackage DEV and deploy as normal. Uninstall local small clients on user computers and go to the deployment share for each environment to reinstall the smart clients.
This is a rare occurrence as most users deploy each environment on a separate Virtual Machines but there can instances, especially when DEV and TEST are constructed within the same VM.
