Users cannot apply state calculation on Multiple Measurement Point Indicators

Problem

It seems the user cannot select indicator state calculation option in the latest releases. I found it works in 7.4 and does not work in 7.5 - 7.7. Are there any indicator settings required to enable it?

Solution

On the Indicator class > Properties view > States tab, users are unable to select "Calculate the current state using the following calculation..." when the collection method is "Manually entered" and the indicator type allows Multiple Measurement points.

There are no settings that affect this directly.

An enhancement request was launched to restore the ability to use calculated states on multiple measurment point type indicators.

In lieu of the enhancement users can create a second calculated indicator, one whose indicator type does not allow multiple measurement points, and using the indicator as an input. Because the caluculated indicator outputs a single value that is not a multiple measurement point, the "Calculate states for this indicator..." option will be available.
