I created a task templated with indicators-to-read. I set the "Asset indicator creation" rule to "Match the template's indicators to the indicators on the standard task asset and its descendants." on the task template's Options tab.
When I create a Standard Task using the task template, the indicators are not added to the standard task asset's child assets.
Also, when I add a new indicator to the task templated, and Apply Changes, the newly added indicator is not added to the standard task asset's child assets.
When a standard task is created from a task template, the indicators on the task template are not pushed to the standard task asset's child assets. To do so indiscriminately would add indicators to all child assets of an assembly, which in many cases would not make sense. This would then leave the planner to delete the unwanted indicators
If an assembly's child assets are to have the indicators identified on the task template, they must be manually added to specific child assets, using the indicator template.
This way, when creating a standard task for an assembly asset, if none of the assembly's child assets have an indicator that is linked to the task template's indicator template, an indicator will be automatically added to the assembly asset using the indicator template.
However, if one or more of the assembly asset's child assets have an indicator that is linked to the indicator template on the task template, the child asset indicator is linked to the standard task's indicator-to-read. No indicator is automatically added to the assembly asset, in this case.
The same is true when new indicator templates are added to a task template, and the changes applied to the standard tasks linked to the task template. If the indicators-to-read are on child assets, the indicator must be previously added to the child assets, prior to applying the task template changes. Otherwise, an indicator will be automatically added to the standard task's assembly asset.
