Problem

In APM Remote, on work request creation page, user clicked the photo button. This openned a new window with camera ON. But after clicking ‘OK’ to snap the photo the APM Remote application freezes. We then need to kill APM Remote session using the Windows Task manager in order to start APM Remote again.

Solution

Right-clicking on the APM Remote Icon in the Window's Tray and selecting settings, we found that there was no attachment path set up on remote client. This is needed to save photos and upload them to the server. To fix this, the user was instructed to follow the APM Remote Set-up guide >  "Configure the APM Remote Client Instance" section to set the attachment path of the Remote Instance on the server. The user was also instructed to check this setting on the Remote Package project. The setting was update in the Remote Package, and the Installer rebuilt, redeployed and reinstalled on the tablet. The user was then guided to update the folder permissions to the attachement folder on the tablet to allow the user "read, write and modify". After this point clicking the OK button on the Camera Window resulted in the photo being taken without issue.
