Network traffic to APM servers should be whitelisted in all firewalls and gateways by the User's in-house IT infrastructure team. We recommend not using proxy servers to route network traffic to APM servers. We have found that users’ firewalls have erroneously flagged APM network traffic as suspicious and blocked connections. We have also seen cases where proxy servers drop APM connections when they are busy handling other network traffic. Unnecessary deep inspection of APM network traffic can also adversely effect application performance.
