Problem

The Meter value and Life-to-date value are out of sync and need to be adjusted on an cumulative indicator which is measured as an Accumulated value.  

Note: 

Bug 38341 reported on the use of Correct reading function can cause this problem.  

For Cumulative Indicators, be sure to use Mark as Incorrect on the incorrect reading and manually enter the new, correct reading.

Solution:

1.  Enter a corrective reading 

To fix the life to date on an accumulated cumulative indicator, you can enter a corrective reading to update the LTD value:

• Check the indicator out for editing
• On the Measurement/Meter tab, change the Measured as option to Difference since last reading, save.
• Calculate the difference between the desired (correct) Life-to-date value and the currently registered (incorrect) Life-to-date value
• Enter a new reading = (correct – incorrect) 
  • Examples:
    • correct = 40,000, incorrect is 38,000 --> new reading is 2000
    • correct = 75,000, incorrect is 80,000 --> new reading is -5000
• Observe that the Life-to-date value is now correct
• Change the Measured as back to Accumulated, save.

2.  Reset the Meter

If the Meter needs adjustment, use the Change meter function:

• From the Tools menu, select Change Meter…
• Set the New value to the desired value for the meter
• Click OK and Save

 This function allows you to rest the value for this indicator’s meter, without affecting life-to date accumulated value.
