Problem Description

This feature can be used when a user wants to connect a secondary camera to the handhelds (Tablet/ Android/ iOS devices).

Steps to Resolve

In order to connect an external camera (GoPro) to the APM handheld devices the following steps are required: -

1. Install the external camera suite (Android\iOS Camera App) in the APM handheld device.

2. Now, switch Wi-Fi on for both the devices (External Camera & Handheld).

3. Configure the camera via suite (Android\iOS Camera App) in the handheld over Wi-Fi connectivity.

Once configuration is done, camera is ready to shoot images and videos.

Note: - All files are stored in External Camera’s storage (Memory chip). To get the images or video to the handhelds, the user need to import the files to handhelds either from the memory chip of External Camera or they can download the files via camera suite installed in handheld and then they need to attach the files to APM.

Advantages: - The GoPro App for handhelds makes it easy to control the camera remotely, view photos and videos and share. We can adjust camera settings and use phone, tablet or Smart Watch as a viewfinder to frame the perfect shot. We can trim videos to create short clips or pull high-quality still images from videos for easy sharing. Hi-Light Tag allows to mark key moments while recording so they will be easier to find later.

Sitech has tested this with GoPro action camera but because of ATEX legislation in Neitherlands it will become another camera as GoPro doesn't follow ATEX legislation.
