Windows 7 machine cannot connect to Server Manager

Problem

Smart Client is not able to connect to APM server Manager.
In client log file:

Solution

 
Our Bentley Hosted Environment requires Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol version 1.2 to be activated on the connecting client’s Windows system.   
By default, TLS 1.2 is enabled on Windows 8+ OS.  To enable TLS 1.2 on your windows 7 machines,
 
  1. Install Windows Updates as needed
  2. Update registry keys according to the following article:  https://support.cybersource.com/s/article/How-do-I-enable-TLS-1-2-on-Windows-7
  3. Reboot your Windows 7 client
Your Windows 7 client should now be able to connect.
