In an SAPInteroperability environment, APM trims the first 2 characters of each line of the Notification Description field when viewing the Notification in APM. The characters remain in the Notification within SAP, they just are not represented in APM. Many users have formatting to start each line in the Notification Long Description field in SAP, this usually includes a character and a space or multiple characters, ie "= " or "**". To resolve these differences in formatting, APM inserted code to strip the first two characters of each line to avoid the user specific permutations for these first 2 characters of each line.
This has been reported as a bug VSTS#65810. While there is no workaround directly within APM, the user can typically infer what is missing in the first 2 characters from the context of each line. Whenever a user believes that pertinent information has been trimmed in APM that they can’t inferred from the context, the user can then open the Notification in SAP directly as that information remains unaffected.
In cases where the Notification was created in APM as part of an Alarm Acknowledgement, no trimming is done prior to sending the Notification to SAP, so the full Notification Long Description field in SAP will still be accurate even though the user will not see the first 2 characters when they view the Notification from within APM.
