After upgrading APM from release 7.2 to 7.10 and repackaging APM Remote, existing Tablets failed to install the new APM Remote package. The Remote Installation log reported the following error message:
"Msg 3169, Level 16, State 1, Server USACORLT181304\SQLEXPRESS, Line 1 > The database was backed up on a server running version 12.00.5579. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 11.00.5058. Either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a backup that is compatible with this server. > Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Server USACORLT181304\SQLEXPRESS, Line 1 > RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally."
The message indicates that SQLEXPRESS 2012 SP2 (ver 11.00.5058) is currently installed on the tablet. The minimum requirements for APM Remote 7.10 is SQLEXPRESS 2014 (ver 12.00.5579).
The APM Remote Installer will likely not have permissions to update earlier versions of SQLEXPRESS to SQLEXPRESS2014.
You have 3 options to address this.
1. An Administrator will need to manually update the installed SQLEXPRESS to SQLEXPRESS 2014 on the existing tablets.
2. Administrator to remove SQLEXPRESS entirely, reboot the tablet and then try reinstalling APM Remote at which point if the Windows permissions allow it, APM Remote will initialize an install of SQLEXPRESS 2014. Note - you will need to ensure when packaging APM Remote to select the Install > Check prerequisites set to "True".
3. Administrator to remove SQLEXRESS entirely and run a manual install of SQLEXPRESS 2014.
