Configuration charts not displaying data by Jim Rish
Customer environment has 9 sites, comparative analyses have been created at each site to display indicator data. Issue has been verified for multiple users, with and without security profiles.
Comparative analysis at sites 1 through 8 - chart view for personal config A - works fine and displays data.
Comparative analysis at site 9 - chart view for personal config A - data is not displayed in chart view, however, data does display in table view. All other comparative analyses at just this site are displaying this same behavior for this same configuration.
Log text alludes to values being out of range, could a site setting be the cause since it is only occuring on comparative analyses that were created at site 9?

Question: RE: Configuration charts not displaying data by Brittany Glaysher
Could you share the table view data for the problem site? Also, was the chart configuration modified/customized or is it the same as the APM base configuration?
Question: RE: Configuration charts not displaying data by Paul Kiar
This may also be a symptom of multiple indicator readings having data that is too large or too small or too many decimals to fit in a dotnet datatype. The remote is reporting this problem too. Oracle can store more precision than dotnet can handle.
Question: RE: Configuration charts not displaying data by Jim Rish
ExcelExport.xlsx
Export of table data that is not displaying in chart view.
Per Paul's comment, customer is using Oracle.
All data has been entered manually on the desktop for this particular dataset.
So there are no calculated indicator readings in this dataset?
Suggested Answer: RE: Configuration charts not displaying data by Jim Rish
Ok, I've created SR 7000936112.
I believe the issue is because of the name of the indicator, not sure if this is Oracle specific, haven't tried on SQL db yet.
I reduced the comparative analysis to just one indicator and issue was still occurring. The name of the indicator was:
006-12: DRIVE (F): Pinion Temp #4 [KILN SURVEY]
First, I removed all non-alphanumeric characters from the name, and the data displayed in the chart view fine.
Then, I started adding them back into the name 1 by 1.
Apparently, it does not like the brackets [ ] in the name. When I added one of them back, the chart immediately went back to the black screen. Removed them again, chart is fixed.
Temporary solution for the customer is to remove the brackets from the indicator names, this 'work around' isn't a show stopper for any of our customers but it does cause confusion when charts do not display data.
Permanent solutions:
1. not allow these characters in the indicator name
2. resolve why it doesnt display in the chart.
