When there is a requirement to include additional attributes from CMMS for APM Integrations

Problem

Customer requires additional attributes from CMMS for Integration with APM, which are currently not setup for integration and are not as per the MIMOSA standard.

Solution

Any number of extra fields can be modeled as characteristics for most but not all Interop objects.

Characteristics are supported on:

Asset/Segment,
Interop WorkOrder,
Interop WorkRequest, and
Request for Work

Asset and Segment can then map these characteristics to the available fields within the APM asset instance. This provides many or most of the fields requested on the SyncSegments and SyncAssets BODs. Solution Package does not support characteristics through 7.12.3 – it may support them in some future release.

It is a Bentley Services effort to deliver these enhancement via characteristics. The configuration and setup are carried out by the project team, and the timing/priority must be decided in consultation with the implementation project manager.
