Problem Description

A Request for work that results from an Indicator Auto-acknowledgement linked with a pre-defined solution package is not automatically marking the Request for work as ready to submit despite the settings that should allow it to do so.

The Work Type's Site Settings tab rule for the Request for work submission were set to:

Without a solution package trigger = “Must be manually marked as ready to submit” and,

With a solution package trigger = “Are automatically marked as ready to submit.”

This should have allowed for the Indicator alarm state that was linked to a solution package to have auto-acknowledged and sent the Request for work to SAP but in this case did not.

Solution

This was reported as a bug, VSTS#766720.

A partial workaround is if both the without and with Solution Package Trigger on the work type site settings are set to automatic it works, the auto-acknowledge will successfully mark the Request for Work as ready to submit.

However, this may not be a true workaround if user wishes to enforce email review for those Indicator Alarms that aren't linked directly with a solution package.

The alternative is to manually review and mark the requests for work manually daily.
