Work Order Task Completion Status not reflecting as Completed when marked as 100% complete


Problem

This behavior happened when a Work Order Task was being marked as Completed. The Work Order has only one Task assigned to it. 

The Report Activity option was used to record the completion of work.

The following status setting were assigned to the Status being used to update:

  1. Completion status: Work Completed
  2. Percent Complete: 100%

In a non-integrated/non-customized/no security profile setting, the following behavior is expected:

However, when Activity Report is processed, the Task line is recorded with the Work Completed status, but the Work Order Task > History view and the Status bar do not record the the Status as Completed.

Solution

It was noticed that some transactions related to this Work Order or the Task could have had transaction related items stuck in the process initiated by Action Scheduler>Post Maintenance Cost, due to which the system is not able to update the overall status of the Work Order nor the status of the individual Task. 

To resolve this issue, the Work Order was Redrafted, then using the Report Activity option, Completion details were entered and the record processed. 

This enabled the system to record the actual/updated status of the Work Order and the Task. Appropriate status text was also reflected in the History view and the Status bar.
