Problem Description

An APM user reported that Storage Location / Bin mask is automatically removed the hyphens from the Storage Location of their Warehouse Inventoried Resources immediately after upgrade to APM release 7.17. The user had multiple pre-existing formats that they were using and were not yet ready to transition to a new global Storage Location format.  For example, a bin location of '501-B-1' is getting modified to '501B1'.

Solution

The Storage Location field has been updated to allow for a setting to allow for a Mask to be applied to values entered into the Storage Location field to allow data for a Warehouse to be consistently represented for all storage locations within that warehouse. This is found on the Warehouse Properties:

This functionality is defaulted to run at upgrade.

A bug, VSTS#930833, been reported to allow for this functionality to be turned on or off depending on the user's readiness to formalize Storage Locations.
