Standard Task next due date based on frequency is not setting correctly nor updating as expected

Problem Description

User has a standard task that is set to track the next due date based on the Frequency of the task. When the task was used to manually trigger a checksheet, the due date of the checksheet was incorrectly set at today + frequency and the standard task next due date was set at today plus 2x frequency (or checksheet due date + frequency). The user then updated the checksheet to today's date but the standard task next due date was not updated and remained at the originally set due date..

Solution

This is not the expected behaviour. When a checksheet is manually triggered, I would expect the due date to be set to today by default. Also, when a checksheet's due date is updated in this kind of set-up, I would expect the standard task to update automatically based on the checksheet.

This was reported as a bug, VSTS#958549.

The workaround is to manually update the date of the checksheet and use the "Override due date" for the standard task to update it's new expected due date:
