Fluid Condition Sample Receipt Verification is not accepted due to previously received sample

Problem Description

An APM user was trying to enter a Fluid Condition Lab Sample Receipt for a Syringe and was receiving an error message saying "Sample syringe with bar code xx was previously received on.." attributed to their own name and with the current date.

The sample receipt would be successful for either receiving the sample bottle or the sample syringe, depending on which receipt was entered first but would not save the receipt for the other sample.

Solution

Bottles and Syringes are registered in the same list in APM. APM allows the user to generate barcodes for both bottle and syringes. In this case the user generated bottles and syringes with the same barcode number but these numbers weren't unique. So there were 2 identical barcode label entries, one for syringe and one for bottle with the exact same number but APM will only allow for a uniquely numbered sample receipt. This is not a bug. in the label settings, the user should include a prefix for bottles barcode that is different from the prefix used for syringe barcode labels.

Otherwise when the user generates labels there is a risk that barcodes will be duplicated.
