Generic Database Connector error when testing Service after upgrade

 Product(s):APM Implementation and Performance Management
 Version(s):7

Problem Description

After upgrading to a new release, an APM user running with an Oracle database was receiving 2 failures when testing the new service; "Environment Password" and "Generic Database Connector"

Solution

The user has recently restored the database into an Oracle 19 environment but was still using the Oracle 12 drivers to connect with the database, as a consequence the APM service would fail the test for the database connector as this is not a supported configuration. Additionally, since the connection could not be made to the database, the Environment Password test was also failing as this test involves communicating through to the database.

The user reverted the APM Database to Oracle 12 and successfully managed to pass the test. The user would also have been able to install the oracle 19 drivers on the target server and uninstalled the Oracle 12 drivers and this should also have corrected the issue.
