SmartClients suddenly fail to connect to Bentley Hosted APM Server Manager

Problem

From one day to the next, SmartClient get error message that they cannot connect to the Server Manager.

Error in the client log (C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Bentley\IvaraEXP\Logs) will state that it was not possible to connect to the revocation server.

In some cases, SmartClient works fine from home but not in the office, or vice a versa

Solution

In this case user reported the following:  "Digicert validation ip address must have changed so we had to update our firewall rules to allow that communication."
