Could not start SmartClient Services

Problem

SmartClient for PROD Environment crashed and users could not log back into APM. IT Admin noticed that the SmartClient service had stopped could not start the service on the server.

Cause was identified as APM Admin User was modifying usernames under Security > Users > Users TAB in preparation for Lif & Shift from on-prem to Bentley MaS. Inadvertently modified the username of the account used to run the SmartClient service.

Solution

Accessed users APM PROD database and manually corrected the username on the oq.ouser table. User then restarted the SmartClient service. Users could then start APM SmartClient.
