Problem

EMW package takes a long time and the fails. On screen, on the Results Report tab, Result Summary is Failed, External component has thrown an exception:

This fatal error is thrown (in the EnvironmentMigrationWizard_instancename.txt log) after all memory on the machine running the package creation is consumed.

Solution

SQL associated the package may be out of date if it has not been regenerated over several releases.

On Enterprise/Data Management/Environment Data Migration Tab/Packages Tab
Open the base product package you are attempting to use go to Generated SQL tab, click on Generate Now button (bottom right)

If you wish to add filters, you can create a copy of the base product package structure in Enterprise/Data Management/Environment Data Migration Tab/Packages Tab

Do not remove nodes from the package structure, use filters to scrape out the unwanted data.

Remember to Generate SQL after making changes

Go to Generated SQL tab, click on Generate Now button (bottom right), verity that your additional filter SQL is added to the list.

The new package will appear in the EMW's list of Data Migration Packages.

There are also other ways to modify the SQL on the base package using the Override Generated SQL option.

Generate SQL, open the line you want to override, check the Override generated SQL Bool, and add your where clause, save
the edit will remain in subsequent Generate Now executions.
