Problem Description

An APM user with an SAP Gateway (CMMS Interoperability) integration with SAP Hana. Noticed that 2 Maintenance Plans in SAP were issued but corresponding checksheets were not created in APM.

Solution

The SAP Gateway integration will create checksheets in APM based on Maintenance Plans in SAP triggering a Maintenance Order. However, in SAP Gateway / CMMS Interoperability integrations there is no corresponding work order in APM from which to create a checksheet. In these types of integrations APM instead uses a scheduled action that invokes a call to SAP to look for Maintenance Plan generated maintenance orders of a specific work type, for a defined period of time, requiring checksheets to be created in APM. This scheduled action is called "create checksheets from maintenance orders".

In this case, the action was running and successfully creating other checksheets for SAP Maintenance plans and even created checksheets of the 2 Maintenance Plans in question during previous runs. It was found that the user experienced an outage to the APM SAP Connector license immediately prior to the planned run of the scheduled action causing this checksheets to not be triggered. The user then manually created checksheets for these 2 missing Maintenance Orders. Subsequent triggering of checksheets occurred as expected.
