An Adapter is a product-specific component responsible for monitoring a system (aka the source) for changes or creations of any objects involved in the integration between AssetWise systems and CMMS systems. 

Bentley AssetWise products with adapters include APM and Optram. CMMS products with adapters include SAP and Oracle.

When an eligible change is detected, the adapter collects the relevant information from the source and transforms it into an XML message in a standard format. 

The adapter then publishes the XML message to interop's Service Bus.
