BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration for PlantSight GUI

BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration for PlantSight GUI enables to easily integrate any PlantSight (PS) solution with external enterprise systems or other Bentley products with no need of any activity, configuration or modification on PlantSight side. This package actually implements not only all necessary components to define, adapt and maintain integration, but also enables a simple methodology, how to visually create new BECS integration project to connect any enterprise system on fly.

BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration for PS GUI enables to show data on fly from integrated enterprise systems in PlantSight live Properties window, in MultiLine Tables and also in Visual Filter.

Integration direction:

This integration supports one-way data visualization from different external enterprise systems or other Bentley products.

Main features:

  • Multi-tenant integration of any external enterprise systems
  • On fly data from external systems
  • No data saved on PlantSight side
  • Easy setting of displayed data using native BECS Selection Console
  • Combination of selected attributes
  • Visual filtering and coloring by selected filters

Architecture of BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration

BECS solution architecture for PlantSight includes these steps:

  1. Catch an event on PlantSight (iTwin) side (e.g. click on PS element)
  2. Identifying the concrete event (BECS PS Dispatcher Project)
  3. Loading and executing the concrete integration project (BECS Data Reading Projects)
  4. Saving the data from source system to BECS Temporary Data Cache to avoid receiving partial data (e.g. because of lost connection)
  5. If necessary, setting the metadata / attributes and mapping in BECS selection console
  6. Data return to PS (easily defined in BECS selection console to PS Properties window, MultiLine Tables window, Visual Filtering)

BECS Selection Console

BECS Selection Console, as a part of BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration for PS GUI, is a native BECS web administration portal enabling user to easily set up the mapping of integrated systems and their parameters displayed in PlantSight, e.g.:

  • assign objects from integrated systems to existing PS element
  • activate and deactivate fields from integrated systems for selected PS element
  • set the sections by selected integrated systems, displayed names, order of attributes in PlantSight Properties window
  • select and rename attributes
  • combine the selected attributes
  • set multiline data from integrated systems to PS Multiline Tables
  • set systems and attributes for PS Visual Filters
  • combine visual filtering across integrated systems
  • select the colors and order to use in visual filtering
  • set coloring in filtered result by attributes from integrated systems

Videos

  • BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration for PS GUI

The video below shows the main features of BECS Dynamic Packaged Integration used in PlantSight - how to visually integrate without any hard-coding or modification on PlantSight side with any enterprise systems or its combinations.

In this example data are dynamically loaded to PlantSight Properties window from the selected systems (SAP, Maximo, APM/AR, ALIM,…) by BECS without any saving on PlantSight side. BECS also generates on fly multiline tables (SAP Work Orders, SharePoint documents, ALIM documents, AR/APM alarms,…) to the selected element in PlantSight. Visual Filtering in PlantSight by BECS dynamic data retrieve enables to filter across external enterprise systems within one filtering condition, e.g. attribute name from SAP (Manufacturer,…), approved construction in SharePoint, approval status in ALIM and coloring by selected attribute (e.g. country of manufacturer, acquisition date,…) at the same time. Data are always fresh and taken directly from source systems and displayed without any saving. BECS mapping console enables to add any new system to PlantSight Properties window or selection and adding the attributes for Multiline Tables or Visual Filtering without no need of programming.
