BECS Integration Template for mobility and HoloLens applications

Intro

Every mobility, smart phone, tablet, wearing electronics or HoloLens applications productively used on user complex solution needs to be fully integrated into user application environment.

As we know BECS effectively solves edge of integration for Bentley solutions and it is a right time to show real integration ready for HoloLens on live sample.

Major mission of this integration back-end is to keep HoloLens application simple and totally independent of user CMMS system technical obstacles and needed issues with integration. All of this is covered by BECS Back-End service and mobility app can focus on business view and visualization quality.

Use Case (Sample)


Virtual Inspections 

This sample application demonstrates “BECS Integration Template for mobility” capabilities in HoloLens2 for two types of user:

“Worker”

This is standard maintenance user who starts its journey with showing the map of his region with displaying of requested work assigned to this user. This work is displayed on the map by markers with 2 colors:

  • Red – this is real alarm taken from APM application (reactive maintenance simulation)
  • Blue – this is planned work from SAP system (taken from PM module)

Worker can click on each marker to see the details of this work online taken from APM or SAP by BECS. System allows navigate to concrete position for selected work and open work on site then. By selection of the task in map is worker entering to the 3D interactive scene where will be highlighted relevant asset from selected task.

“Supervisor”

Supervisor is the user on higher level, who is not starting with map, but with view of all related projects instead. All projects are taken online by BECS from Bentley CONNECT server where is user authorized in first step. After selection of concrete project supervisor can see all 3D models (iModels) for this project. By selection of the model is supervisors entering to the 3D interactive scene.

In this common landing point for both user types is possible to see all details of 3D model, work with scene interactively (zoom in/out, rotate, walk in,…) as well as display all details from SAP about selected Asset (from SAP PM/AM) or Element (from InspectTech) see all related documents (SharePoint 365) on fly as well as live IoT data (from Siemens). Here is also possible to check all related contacts to this asset (last maintenance worker, buyer, organizational owner, … - from SAP HR) and send them a mail or call them… And finally, user can see whole maintenance history for selected asset (from SAP PM) to create observation which will be immediately created as new Work Order (in SAP).
