Database Attributes

Hello,

I wish to create a physical item attribute whose value is created from SQL query. The SQL would need to contain a where clause used the item_number

Any suggestions as to how this could be achieved?

TIA

  • Hi Andy,

let me know if this is what you are looking for:

    1. Go to Physical Item root class and create a new attribute using type “Fixed Value”

    2. Click on the three dots next to the type to access the screen to configure your fixed attribute:

    1. On first tab (Data Source), enter the connection information to the database that you will query to get values. You can choose (local) to access data within your own eB database without additional connection configuration:

    2. Under “query” enter the query that will return your values:

    3. The Current Values will be populated with the results of your Lookup Query.

    4. Save the attribute configuration and add the attribute to the child classes. When you open a Physical Item that has this attribute defined you will be able to add values to the attribute from the results of the defined SQL.
