‘days before forced password change’ option in eB

Hello,

When creating a new user account you have the option to specify the days before a forced password change. Can you confirm if this should prompt users to change their passwords when they log in after the 90 days, or whether it simply locks users out so they are forced to request a new password?

Hi Catherine,

It wont lock the users account on 90th Day. It will prompt user to change the password on the same day or whenever he logs in after 90th day.
Suppose User logged in on 89th Day and went of for couple of days, it wont let the account locked. Whenever user logs in back, before login into eB system, it will ask for the password change.

Note: System Information/User Account Information permission required to perform the changes.

Hi Manav,

In this case there is an issue in our instance of eB. The user has the allow password change permission, but is locked out, and not prompted to change their password.

Sorry, another question, is there a reason we might not be seeing these pop ups? Is there any DB event they rely on? Or could they be blocked by IE settings?

In addition to not getting the pop up, I have just had feedback that the users are having the problem on the first time of logging in, not the 5th, so the scenario is the force password setting is set to 90 days, the grace log ins is set to 5. But some users, who have never logged in, are trying to after the 90 days, and are immediately locked out. This has been tested, with a test account, to eliminate any chance the users are using the wrong password, and the same behaviour has been shown, in that case the force password setting was set to 1 day, and when we tried to log in for the first time after 2 days, it wasn't possible. There was no opportunity to reset the password as the user never successfully logged in. Any ideas?

I guess we need to check the issue via remote session.
