I want to delete the VIs in the attached screenshot. After I realised that VIs does not have security, I tried to create the existing project as VIG, and it gives the the error message, so its making the structure untidy and confusing.
Removing VIG
Select the VIG that you want to delete
Open the Virtual Item Members
Highlight all the Virtual Item Members and press Delete on your computer.
This should delete the VIG completely.
NB: If it does not work (a hotfix for this was issued) then you have to do each separately.
Do the following
Go onto the lowest VI
Under Structure select the Child Grouped virtual Item and delete by selecting
The deleted VI will now be displayed under the VIG
Go to the main VIG and select the Virtual Item Members and select each individually and select
Remember to refresh after each action otherwise it will not show
Go to SEARCH
Select UNGROUPED VIRTUAL ITEMS
Now open each and delete
