Hi Team,
I am trying to allow an mp4 video to play directly from his "native Application", once we click on the video link form EB, but unfortunately, Window media player shows a generic Error message ( attached file). The video does play with no problem once opened outside EB environment ( or once saved form EB and playing it)
On EB director, in the Electronic file Format section we have already added:
File Extension: .MP4 Application Name: VIDEO/MPEG Mime Type: VIDEO/MP4
and on the web.config , I re-enforced the settings by adding a line with an MP4 mimeTypte to be opened by native application (attached file). but doesn't seem to resolve the issue, can you please assist.
Thanks
Stephane
Hi,
I can confirm that MP4 files open and play ok within my 15.4.1 install.
The only difference is that my MIME Type is:
VIDEO/MPEG
Also within my Web.Config I have the following config:
</handlers><staticContent> <mimeMap fileExtension=".mp4" mimeType="video/mp4" /> <mimeMap fileExtension=".ogv" mimeType="video/ogg" /> <mimeMap fileExtension=".webm" mimeType="video/webm" /> </staticContent> </system.webServer> <runtime>
Hope this helps.
Hello Andy,
By default it failed for me and change on 15.4 version did not worked, so it might be also related to end user configuration. If I do set VLC player as default application for mp4 files then it works. Difference between VLC and Windows Media Player is that VLC downloads file and only then tries to open it as WMP tries to open file directly. Andy, can you tell us what windows version and what player you use for mp4 files?
RegardsGintautas
Hi Gintautas,
I'm using Windows 7, the Mp4 file opens in Windows media player.
Can this issue be closed?
