Hello,
I'm using 15.4.1
ScenarioUse a modification to migrate a serial item from Item A to that of Item B.This results in two serial numbers both with the same batch number, one is marked as Current on is marked as Superseded.
ProblemThe system only recognises the superseded serial item. For example the search will only return the superseded serial item. If I want to relate another object (for example a document) to the current serial number then it will fail because it can’t find it.
Having looked deeper at the act of implementing a modification it certainly creates another serial item object. The problem appears that it does not add a corresponding record to the objects tables, this then means it breaks the search, linking, etc...
Is this a known bug, what's the fix please?
Herewith an explanation of how this should work;
Hello Carma,
I've read your explanation, that's pretty much my understanding. The exception being that when you add a planned date the second serial item has a status of 'Current' not 'Planned'
This narrative still doesn't really address my orginal question though. I now have multiple users who have used the modification functionality who now cannot edit any the newly created serial items?
We consider this to be a serious bug. I will raise a ticket in the support system, but it would be helpful to keep this post updated with the progress to help other members of the community.
Hi Carma - How is this progressing? My users are keen for an update.
Andy, it has been logged as a Defect. It is with QA currently. It takes some time for QA to go through all the defects so it is not easy to say when this will be resolved. I will check with them again.
Can I have an update please?
Thanks,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
This issue is still with QA. Unfortunately not sure how long this will take as it is in the queue. I have flagged it again.
Regards
Hi Andy, impossible to say when it will be fixed. It goes to QA and unfortunately they will only fix when they have time. Normally they first take the latest Versions to fix and then go to the older versions
