We currently allow our bulk import engine on 15.6 to run jobs on 3 app servers.
In the eB work queue propertied we allow -
Max Asynchronous Jobs = 2
Max Asynchronous Jobs Per Type = 1
We intermittently receive a deadlocked transaction error during imports. Could changing any of these settings help us resolve that error? Or is it related to something else?

Hi Catherine,These settings (Max Asynchronous Jobs) apply to each server individually. So even if you set everything to 1, then there is a chance that a similar import job will run at the same time on two or even three servers simultaneously. And therefore, you may still be running into a deadlock from time to time.
You need to look into what is causing the deadlock and correct that underlying issue. A properly written engine should not cause deadlocks, no matter how many instances are running in parallel.I have confirmed the same with consultants who work on engines and customizations.Thanks,Manav

We have not customized the engine, it was provided by Bentley. So if the problem is with the engine itself, please can this be raised as an SR for someone to investigate?
