eB Storage error.

Dear All,

I have an "unable to start service error" it seems that i cannot launch, nor check in / out any files, the storage service in ESMC does not want to start, although i stop and tried again. i also receive the following error when looking at the log as per the attached picture.

"

Error starting the service.

Unable to start the service, you may need to start it manually.

The type initializer for 'eB.Prevalence.StoragePrevayler' threw an exception.

Binary stream '0' does not contain a valid BinaryHeader. Possible causes are invalid stream or object version change between serialization and deserialization."

  • I've seen this error before and it was related to corrupted snapshot. To fix this issue please follow the steps below:


    1) Open Windows Services and stop the eB Service Manager
    2) Open Windows explorer and navigate down to directory where snapshot is located. V15 is located under programdata in V14 it's under users (C:\ProgramData\Enterprise Informatics\eB)(C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spescom\eB)
    4) Re-start the eB Service Manager
    5) Open your eB System Management Console and confirm all services have been started.
    6) If at this point your storage devices/repositories do not show under the Storage, you will need to run the Storage Wizard and select option "recover local settings
