eB (ALIM) doesn’t allow for remarks to be added in once a document is approved. Even if you want to add in a remark before making the approved document historic, this cannot be done.
Is there a reason for this?

Hi Dean,It is as designed. If a document is approved, that means it is completed and restricted for further modifications.If you want to modify the document, please either unapproved it or create a new revision for the same and make required changes before approving the new revision.I hope it helps you to make further changes.
