Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of some eQL that I could use in a report to bring back documents/people that have a new line/s (blank returns) in one of their attributes? We have some free text attributes and users are pasting in text with blank lines in it, and I would really like a report to highlight these so that Document Control can correct the objects and keep eB as tidy and concise as possible.
Many thanks,
Julie
eQL treats empty values and white space the same as NULLs. To find these values use:
. . .
WHERE
Attributes["Global", "Comments"].Value IS NULL
However, this will return values that are truly NULL, those that have only white space and those that are empty. Note that if you use the form TRIM(Attributes["Global", "Comments"].Value) = '', it won't find anything, even if you have values that TRIM to an empty string. To differentiate between NULL, empty and whitespace you need to use a SQL query.

One more thing: if the attribute is a Memo type, TRIM(Attributes["Global", "Comments"].Value) = '' will return an error.
Thank you Eric. I tried this and couldn't get it to work via eQL so I'll try via SQL. Thanks for your help.
