Hello Everyone!
We have a setup of eB16.7.25.5 succesfully configured with Temp Certificate generated by eB.
We have an APP server and a Web Server separately.
The probem is that we need to setup a different certifcate with FQDN in order to use HTTPS on the web server. As I understand the same certificate must be used in both servers. When we tried to set it up we got an error when starting SMC that states that eB has no confidence on the SSL certifcate. After researching a lot I realized that the Temp Certificate issued by eB takes the name of the server without Domain (NAMESERVER instead of NAMESERVER.DOMAIN.COM). This is because on SMC the name on the server has no Domain also?.
So we need help on configuring our SSL Certificate in SMC and that same certifcate on the web server, so Web App can connect to APP Server, and finally the eB web site be opened with HTTPS.
Please let me know if you need sonething else in order to help me. Thanks a lot!!
Here attach some screenshots to see what I am saying.
One thing I would suggest that may make your life a little easier is to use a wildcard domain certificate (i.e. *.dassanet.com). This will allow you to use the same certificate for both IIS and ALIM SMC.
Once you install the cert you may have to restart the services. If you used the temp cert creation start parameters make sure you fully stop the "eB Service Manager" service and verify the start parameters are cleared out. Which they should be but best to check.
You may still receive a cert error, like you have above, when opening SMC but it should be working just fine.
Hi Michael!!
I Have done what you said, but now I have a litle problem. See this post please:
At this point I think this may be a bit to complex situation to troubleshoot in a forum setting like this because it could be many numbers of things. I would suggest opening a Support Request (https://apps.bentley.com/srmanager/ProductSupport) and our support personnel can assist you directly. When the solution is found it can be posted in this thread for others to see.
