Hello everyone!!
I´m having an issue installing a new server. The version is 16.7.25. on windows 2016.
I need SMC to register the new server with fully qualified name (server.domain.com) so we can use an ssl certificate with wildcard.
The problem is that right after installing the server I open SMC and see that the name showed it is just the local name (server witout domain.com). So I tried to register it with the FQDN. Apparently I did it right.
But when I try to delete (unregister) the server with the local name, I can´t. Attached screenshot for help.
So.....How can I accomplish all this? Please help....
Hi Ezequiel,
If you refer eBimplementation Guide, the computer should be in the domain before installing SMC.
In your case, it has already taken the default as local server and as per my knowledge, you can't delete it.
The best practice would be to bring the server in domain first and then install SMC.

Nitin
The server was registered in the Domain before installing eB Core Server. I have many years of expertise installing other versions of eB, but in eB16 there were a lot of changes, for example: the ssl certificate needed for eB in order to work. I need further assistance. Thanks.
Hi, same issue here.
Of course eB Core was installed AFTER all the servers were added to the domain. Of course the eB Service Manager is running under a Domain Account and of course that account is a member of the Local Administrators Groups.
The thing is that when you activate the FQDN option in SMC the server name displayed in the SMC must change to show the FQDN (DNS) but it doesn't. So you go and manually register the server with the FQDN and it works fine.
But then there are two servers in the SMC that in fact is the SAME server: 1 entry with the HOSTNAME and 1 entry with the FQDN.
So, How do we REMOVE one of these entries?
Thanks a lot, kind regards,
Sebastian.
